Artistic director Anna Odintsova named People’s Artist of the Russian Federation

By Presidential Decree No. 201 of 30 March 2026, Anna Viktorovna Odintsova was awarded the honorary title People’s Artist of the Russian Federation for outstanding contributions to musical, film, theatre, and choreographic arts.

Career

Anna Odintsova has devoted her creative life to the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. This year marks her 28th season on that stage, guided throughout by People’s Artist of the RSFSR Larisa Matyukhina-Vasilevskaya.

Leading and solo roles across classical and contemporary repertoire include Odette–Odile, Giselle, Masha (The Nutcracker), Phrygia and Aegina (Spartacus), Medora (Le Corsaire), Nikiya and Gamzatti (La Bayadère), Cinderella, Aurora, Kitri, and many others.

Recognition

In 2014 she was named Honoured Artist of Russia. She is a Golden Mask diploma holder (2014), recipient of a special Paradiz prize (2016), and laureate of “Kings of the Fine Arts” (2023).
